These gorgeous examples of Fender ingenuity are recreations of models previously only available to the Japanese market, and always offer Fender enthusiasts the chance to own something a little bit different to their standard models.
In this particular instance we have a vintage-style Precision bass, with the same kind of build specifications that were used between the 1950s and 1960s, in a gorgeous Midnight finish (black body, pickguard, pickups and headstock) and with striking gold-finished hardware.
Responsible for arguably the most-recognisable bass tone on the planet, the P-Bass split coil pickup was originally designed as a Single Coil, but split to minimise unwanted 60-cycle hum. These pickups are renowned for producing a thundering, no-nonsense bass tone that's suitable for pretty much any style of music - from jazz to blues, pop, rock, metal, rock and roll, soul, punk, and more!
For the pickup in this bass, Fender have opted for one of their Vintage style Split Coils, helping to accurately reproduce the tone that helped shape the very foundations of modern music.
It's not only the pickup that helps invoke the spirit of those vintage P-Basses - there's also the build specs, especially with the neck. This traditional P-Bass Maple neck sports a "U"-shaped profile, which is deeper than the modern "C" shape and perfectly suited to players with bigger hands.
In addition to this, the neck is topped with a Rosewood fingerboard that sports a 7.25" radius (as opoosed to the modern 9.5"). Originally introduced during the 1950s, this was the radius of choice up until the 1980s when it was superceded by the flatter 9.5" radius, but remains a favourite to vintage Fender enthusiasts the world over.
As with all Fender Special Run instruments, the Fender FSR MIJ Traditional 60s Precision bass Midnight is available in limited numbers. Therefore, we'd recommend that you order yours sooner rather than later, because once they've gone, they've gone!

CITES
CITES regulations concerning the export of items containing certain woods affect any guitar sold ouside of the European Union and which contains any quantity of either Rosewood or Bubinga. In these cases, an additional charge of £80.00 will be levied per species after the sale to pay for the required re-export certificate. There will be a delay in dispatching any guitar containing either Bubinga or Rosewood of up to 4 weeks while we obtain the necessary certification for export. As the charge is per species, where a guitar contains both Bubinga AND Rosewood, the charge is doubled to £160.00. We will contact you following your purchase of any guitar containing a controlled wood and advise of the charge once you have placed the order. You can make payment for the charge by sending a Paypal payment to us at: sales@fxpedal.co.uk.
Note that CITES only applies to guitars containing Rosewood or Bubinga that are being exported outside the European Union. Guitars being delivered with the United Kingdom or in the European Union will be dispatched as normal.
