The Ibanez RG550 Genesis is new for NAMM 2018, and it is sure to stand out with its sound as well as its aesthetics. The lightweight double cutaway body is crafted from basswood, offering balanced tones with good tone definition. The RG550's 5-piece neck is strong and sturdy, and more resistant to warping than the classic 1 piece. Made from both maple and walnut, the neck offers some beautifully bright yet soft tones. The neck is paired with a maple fingerboard for those defined and twangy tonal characteristics. The Ibanez RG550 Genesis is loaded with 3 pickups, with HSH configuration; these consist of the V7 at the neck, the S1 in the middle and the V8 near the bridge. This combination of Ibanez pickups produces an immense amount of power, with sharp, articulate tones. Finally, this eye-catching guitar is finished in a vibrant Desert Sun Yellow, with contrasting black pickguard.

Lightweight Basswood Body:

The Ibanez RG550 Genesis' body is crafted from basswood, which produces fat, yet balanced tones with excellent dynamics and tone definition. The stylish double cutaway shape offers easy access to the higher frets, and allows for smooth hand movement across the 24 fret fingerboard. The basswood body also features a convenient contour, for a more comfortable play, ideal for long gig nights or studio sessions.

5-Piece Maple/Walnut Neck & Maple Fingerboard:

The RG550 features a 5pc maple/walnut neck which offers excellent strength and sturdiness, and is therefore more resistant to warping. The maple fingerboard offers bright tones with good levels of clarity, providing a defined and twangy sound. The guitar's neck is crafted with a classic Ibanez Super Wizard profile, producing an excellent sustain. The thinner neck from the 12th fret to the 1st, allows faster and more comfortable play; which is ideal for heavy metal guitarists.

HSH Pickups:

The Ibanez RG550 is equipped with 3 incredibly powerful Ibanez pickups, the V7 which is situated at the neck, the S1 in the middle and the V8 near the bridge. When combined, all three pickups produce an immense amount of power, as well as sharp, articulate response. The HSH combination of pickups allows a fierce sound from the V8, a warm, fat tone from the V7 and consistent clarity from the S1 single coil.

Classic Headstock:

The RG550 Genesis features an angled headstock, which is a common feature on many Ibanez guitars. This not only provides a stylish look, but it also offers improved string pressure for better sustain and smooth play.

Visuals That Stand Out On Stage:

You are guaranteed to have all eyes, and ears, on you when you are rocking on stage with the RG550's vibrant finish. The body has an eye-catching Desert Sun Yellow finish, and a matching headstock. Topped off with a contrasting black pickguard and black hardware, the aesthetics of the Ibanez RG550 will certainly stand out.

CITES regulations concerning the export of items containing certain woods affect any guitar sold ouside of the European Union and which contains any quantity of either Rosewood or Bubinga.  In these cases, an additional charge of £80.00 will be levied per species after the sale to pay for the required re-export certificate.  There will be a delay in dispatching any guitar containing either Bubinga or Rosewood of up to 4 weeks while we obtain the necessary certification for export. As the charge is per species, where a guitar contains both Bubinga AND Rosewood, the charge is doubled to £160.00.  We will contact you following your purchase of any guitar containing a controlled wood and advise of the charge once you have placed the order.  You can make payment for the charge by sending a Paypal payment to us at: sales@fxpedal.co.uk.

Note that CITES only applies to guitars containing Rosewood or Bubinga that are being exported outside the European Union.  Guitars being delivered with the United Kingdom or in the European Union will be dispatched as normal.
