Nothing breathes inspiration into your playing like the feel of a precision made instrument, capable of interpreting your every move with power and accuracy. Enter the Ibanez RGA— a solid body specifically built to handle the heaviest, most physically demanding music you can conjure up. • Gorgeous flamed maple top with heavenly finish
  • Maple neck with fast playing slim Wizard III profile
  • Jatoba fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets at your disposal
  • Dual Quantum pickups offer great humbucker tones
  • RGA model is a take on the Steve Vai inspired JEM guitar
  • Excellent model for both new and experienced players alike

The Ibanez RGA42FM Standard Electric Guitar is an outstanding model that comes at an economical price. The Ibanez RGA series takes the RG guitar and gives it a unique sculpted top which enhances the overall feel of the guitar for improved playability. The RGA42FM brings together a fine selection of tonewood with superb hardware to produce an excellent range of sounds.

The RGA42FM benefits from a solidbody construction to give it a sturdy and resilient feel in the hands. However, comfortability is maximised thanks to the slender body depth, ergonomically designed curves and sleek bevelled edges. It features the iconic Ibanez double cutaway horns in the body for greater access to the upper frets, something which is often not the case in other electric guitars. In some ways, the RGA42FM is influenced by the superb JEM guitar which was designed by and for Steve Vai, allowing for heavy riffs and plenty of shredding.

The body is constructed using mahogany, which lays the foundation for a smooth, warm midrange energy. Married to the body is a gorgeous flamed maple top that has been treated to a divine finish.

A smooth maple neck is firmly fitted to the RGA42FM which feels incredibly comfortable in your hand, all thanks to its slim contours. The neck is shaped to the Wizard III profile, so it has a thin, flat feel that promotes faster playing and makes it much easier to soar through arpeggio and legato technique with ease. You can rely on the neck for durability and stability, making it the perfect playing platform to perform on whilst reinforcing its resilience.

Topping the neck is a Jatoba fingerboard, which is home to 24 jumbo frets that offer a two-octave range for you to explore. The luxurious playing surface is magnificent, and paired with the double cutaways in the body, all restrictions have been removed to ensure that every single fret is within easy reach.

Ibanez have kitted the RGA42FM out with dual Quantum humbucker pickups, with one at the bridge position and another at the neck position. These hot humbuckers elevate your pick attack and open a universe of tones, with a very coherent high-end right through to an impressively quick bass response.

You can easily switch between the pickups using the 5-way toggle selector, while the master Volume and Tone controls allow you to sculpt and shape your output.

Fitted to the body is a fixed bridge to the body, which creates a seamless transition between the strings and body to improve intonation and sustain. As one would expect from Ibanez, the hardware works exquisitely throughout to maintain consistency of tone and string tension for a peerless performance.

The Ibanez RGA42FM Standard Electric Guitar is perfect for new and experienced players alike. Those who are embarking on their musical journey will struggle to find a better model for honing their skills on at such an affordable price. For players who are seeking a reliable touring partner or solid model for practising, jamming, and recording with, the RGA42FM is the ideal choice.

CITES regulations concerning the export of items containing certain woods affect any guitar sold ouside of the European Union and which contains any quantity of either Rosewood or Bubinga.  In these cases, an additional charge of £80.00 will be levied per species after the sale to pay for the required re-export certificate.  There will be a delay in dispatching any guitar containing either Bubinga or Rosewood of up to 4 weeks while we obtain the necessary certification for export. As the charge is per species, where a guitar contains both Bubinga AND Rosewood, the charge is doubled to £160.00.  We will contact you following your purchase of any guitar containing a controlled wood and advise of the charge once you have placed the order.  You can make payment for the charge by sending a Paypal payment to us at: sales@fxpedal.co.uk.
